Aid Association for Lutherans was acquired by Lutheran Brotherhood on 01/02/2002. Aid Association for Lutherans (AAL) is an insurance company that provides life, disability income, long-term care, and business insurance services. In June 2001, after close consideration of how combining the two organizations would benefit members, AAL and LB agreed to merge. Following the merger, a new operating name was approved by members: Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
